"After War" thoughts
Lt. Col. Tip - 352nd FG.
Congratulations to I./JG51 for a hard won victory in the Inaugural Normandy Campaign.
...There was no cheap mission
....Each sortie was flown with the understanding that success or failure influenced the ground forces resulting in the ultimate victor of the Campaign. The dynamic and exemplary atmoshpere in which this Campaign was played exhibited all the best traits of the EAW Community. And we at the 352nd F.G. were honored to have a part in the making and playing of this Campaign.
It was and will be a continuing priviledge to fly with each and every member of both I./JG51 and the 352nd F.G. within the EAW Online arena and I salute each and every participant from both fighter groups in what was a win win situation not only for our respective groups but for EAW Online play as a whole.
Maj. dBeav - 352nd FG.
I too would like to offer up a S! to JG51 for a fantastic tournament. It was a joy to compete against them. They are a talented and honorable opponent.
Lt. Lemke - I./JG51
... it was a great campaign, hard fought up to the very end, I can tell you I was pretty nervy going into the final evening's play with the game all square after so many weeks flying
...I think all the pilots who took part for both 352nd and Jg51 can feel well pleased with themselves for the excellent spirit shown throughout the games and the tough team-fighting that took place
....well flown gentlemen, I am sure we will meet in the virtual skies again before too long.
Maj. Snoopy- 352nd FG.
...Very close missions all the way through!! Pleasure flying with and against all who partook of the game,Very pleased with how the tournament was played, mostly the sportsmanship and friendleness that happened.NOT one argument was had at this tourney, again S! TO ALL!!!
Lt. Steiner - I./JG51
I cannot express how happy I am that the Normandy Campaign was such a success. I am also proud of all the participants. They all proved that an entire tournment CAN BE fought without being accompanied by flamewars as well. I./JG51 did a great job and is manned by a bunch of fantastic pilots and good people. Their efforts, skill and sportsmanship, however, were matched at every turn by the 352nd.
...Our squad may have won the contest in the end, but we had to scrape, claw and bite for every point we got........and thats just the way it should be!
I extend a big Thank You to the 352nd. They are indeed, "Second to None". You guys are a first class outfit manned by first class people. One of the ways class shows itself is how it meets defeat. You have shown the quality of your class in the thread above. I salute every one of you.
Oblt. Krause - I./JG51
...but one point id like for the whole community to get is that the things that Tip and Steiner have organized for this really work- us pilots getto fight- but at the same time there is a clear understanding of what each mission, each dogfight, each movement either side makes, and what its outcome has to do in the larger context of the whole battle.
